Welcome!  My name is Betsy and I grew up on my family’s farm in rural western Washington state.  After getting married in 2010 I moved next door to my family’s farm.  After spending the past six years as a teacher and a substitute teacher, I have changed career pathways and am working full time on the farm.  Mostly doing office work, I know, not as romantic as working on a farm sounds, but I leave most of the dirty work to the boys!  My husband, Kyle and I love the outdoors.  He lives for the first two weeks of September, which is archery elk season.  I live for summer, which is camping and scouting season!  In the past few years I have developed an interest in living off the farm more than I did growing up.  Although our farm is mainly a tree farm, we also host weddings, hayrides to the pumpkin patch and do school programs.  My parents and I have been experimenting with gardening, canning, drying, and freezing.  I am by no means an expert, but am enjoying learning how to live off the land, so to speak and become a little more self sufficient.  I hope you’ll enjoy taking this journey with me.
